What it does

Three ways credit moves

Every path writes to the same ledger and obeys the same rules, so a balance means the same thing however it got there.

By hand

Search a contact, see their balance and full history, add or deduct with a reason.

  • Complete transaction history per contact
  • A note on the contact timeline for every change
  • Restrict who can move credit to admins only

By workflow

Credit becomes something your GoHighLevel automations can read and change.

  • Actions: add credit, deduct credit, check balance
  • Triggers: Credit Added, Credit Deducted
  • Every step returns the previous and new balance

On invoices

Available credit comes off new HighLevel invoices without anyone remembering to do it.

  • Applied as a line item, capped at the invoice total
  • Returned automatically if an unpaid invoice is voided
  • Off by default, enabled per sub-account
Use cases

What people run on it

Anything where a customer is owed value that isn't cash back on a card. Referral programs are the most common.

Referral programs

Pay referrers in store credit instead of cash. The reward lands on their account the moment the referral converts, it is spent on their next invoice automatically, and the money never leaves your business — which is what makes a referral program affordable to run at all.

Because both the reward and the redemption are workflow steps, the whole program runs unattended in GoHighLevel.

  1. A new customer names their referrer on a form, or arrives through a tracked link.
  2. Your workflow waits until their first invoice is paid — so nobody earns on a booking that never converts.
  3. Add Account Credit puts $25 on the referrer, with the reason recorded against their contact.
  4. The Credit Added trigger fires a second workflow that texts them: "You've earned $25."
  5. Their next invoice comes out $25 lower, automatically. No coupon codes, no manual discounting.

Loyalty and repeat business

Credit a percentage back on every completed job. It only spends with you, so it brings people back rather than costing you margin.

Service recovery

A late appointment or a bad experience gets goodwill credit on the spot, logged with a reason and visible to whoever picks up the next conversation.

Deposits and prepaid packages

Take payment for a package up front, hold it as credit, and draw it down invoice by invoice as the work is delivered.

Refunds without touching the card

Return the value as credit instead of reversing a charge — no processing fees, no chargeback window, and the customer stays a customer.

Affiliate and partner rewards

Reward partners who send work your way in credit against their own invoices, tracked per contact like any other balance.

Membership perks

Drop a monthly credit allowance onto every active member with a scheduled workflow, and let it spend itself against their invoices.

What it looks like in the sub-account

Credit Wallet runs as a custom page inside HighLevel — no separate login for your team.

The Credit Wallet page inside a GoHighLevel sub-account, showing a contact's account credit balance and their transaction history, including credit applied to an invoice and returned when it was voided.
Every contact gets a balance and a full history — manual entries, workflow entries and invoice activity in one list.

Safeguards

The rules it will not break

This is money owed to your customers. The interesting part of a credit ledger is not what it does when everything goes right.

Balances never go negative
A deduction larger than the balance is refused outright rather than partly applied, and a workflow step attempting it fails rather than guessing.
Credit is never spent twice
The amount applied to an invoice is the amount deducted from the ledger, and a repeated webhook cannot apply it again.
Paid invoices are never auto-refunded
If an invoice already took a payment and is then voided, the credit is flagged for a person rather than returned — a refund may already cover it, and doing both would compensate the contact twice.
Hand-edited balances are detected
The transaction log is the source of truth. If a balance is edited directly in your CRM, the disagreement is reported rather than silently corrected.
Anything ambiguous waits for you
Cases the app should not decide alone go to a review list and a note on the contact, naming the amount and what happened.
Credit Wallet's settings page, showing invoice auto-apply and contact notes switched on, credit changes restricted to admins, and an empty needs-review list.
Settings are per sub-account, and anything needing a decision collects in one place.

Straight answers

Before you install

Where does the data live?

In your GoHighLevel sub-account, as two custom objects — Credit Transactions and Credit Accounts. It stays visible, filterable and exportable in your CRM, and it is still there if you uninstall the app.

Can someone edit a balance by hand?

Yes — they are records in your CRM, and an admin will always have access. We recommend restricting both objects to admin users. Credit Wallet checks its own figures and flags any balance that disagrees with its history.

Why doesn't the credit show on an invoice right away?

An invoice doesn't exist until it's saved, and HighLevel's invoice editor holds its own copy of the form. The credit is applied within a second or two — reload the invoice and the line is there. Reload before sending.

What if I void or delete an invoice?

If nothing was paid, the credit goes straight back to the contact's balance and appears in their history as returned. If a payment was taken, it's flagged for you instead.

Does it work for contacts in bulk?

Through workflows, yes — any GoHighLevel automation that can reach a contact can add or deduct credit, so campaigns, referral rewards and refunds all run unattended.

Are there usage costs on top of the subscription?

GoHighLevel charges $0.01 per execution for marketplace workflow actions and triggers — its own platform fee, applied to every marketplace app, billed by HighLevel rather than by us. Only workflow steps count. Adding credit by hand and applying it to invoices automatically are not workflow executions and cost nothing extra.

What happens when the trial ends?

Nothing is deleted. Your ledger is your own CRM data and stays exactly where it is, whether you subscribe, switch plans, or uninstall.
